This 4km loop walk is the easiest to get to from the anchorage at Tangalooma wrecks and it's a pretty good one. It takes you through the woods out to a huge sand blow where sand boarding is popular. The easiest approach is to head south on the beach past the resort for about a half mile. There is a green park sign marking the trailhead to The Desert. You can't miss it. Follow this trail past a junction (with a trail that veers off to the left) and continue to the sandblow. On the way back, turn right at the junction rather than going back to the beach. The rolling, wooded trail goes back to the resort and has good views.
