Known for being one of the best anchorages for protection from northerly winds, Horseshoe Bay is a large anchorage with a sandy beach and a park on shore. We anchored in 20 feet with good holding. There are a few trails to explore the history of the island (quarantine area, sisal plantation and leper colony) and it is a good place to finish out or start the shallower sections when transiting to or from Southport.
